Mbappe will miss part of France’s training, but will participate against Spain

Kylian Mbappé, France’s captain, did not complete his country’s final training session yesterday, before facing Spain in the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup today, after suffering a minor ankle injury during the victory over Morocco in the quarter-finals.

The technical staff decided to partially rest Mbappe during yesterday’s training, after replacing him in the final minutes of the match, in which France won 2-0 over Morocco on Thursday.

The injury is not expected to prevent him from participating in today’s match.

“Kylian is fine,” France coach Didier Deschamps told reporters.

When asked about Mbappé training, Deschamps added, “Yes, he trained. He was allowed to perform 10 minutes in one training session instead of 15 minutes.”
