German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen participated today, Tuesday, in the Spanish club Barcelona’s preparations for the new season, despite the speculation raised about his departure.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick decided to use 34-year-old Ter Stegen and a group of young players at the start of the preparation period for the new season in the absence of many players participating in the World Cup.

Ter Stegen posted a photo on the Instagram photo-sharing platform wearing a Barcelona shirt, raising his thumb.

Dutch media reported last week that Ajax Amsterdam had reached an agreement with the Catalan club to loan the goalkeeper, who represented the German national team in 44 international matches.

Ter Stegen played on loan for Girona last season, but suffered a serious injury that forced him to miss the German national team in the World Cup, noting that the international goalkeeper has a contract with Barcelona until 2028.
