"Ras Al Khaimah Economy" 24,000 monitoring visits were carried out during the first half

Ras Al Khaimah, July 17 / WAM / The Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah recorded positive results in commercial compliance indicators during the first half of this year, after carrying out 24,359 monitoring visits that included various establishments and economic activities in the emirate.

The visits showed that 21,968 establishments adhered to the approved requirements and systems, with a compliance rate of 90%, confirming the effectiveness of the regulatory system implemented by the department, and its role in promoting an organized and competitive business environment based on adherence to laws and legislation.

These oversight tours come as part of the department’s efforts aimed at raising the level of compliance among commercial establishments, and ensuring their adherence to the regulations and requirements regulating the practice of economic activities, ensuring the protection of consumer rights, promoting fair competition, and reducing commercial violations, in support of the process of sustainable economic development in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Faisal Abdullah Alyoun, Director of the Department of Commercial Control and Protection at the Department, said that the compliance rate achieved during the first half of the year reflects the success of the regulatory plans implemented by the Department, and the positive cooperation shown by private sector establishments in adhering to the legislation regulating markets.

He explained that the department is focusing on developing a modern regulatory system that relies on advance planning and risk analysis, ensuring that regulatory efforts are directed to priority activities and achieving the highest levels of efficiency. We believe that compliance with regulations represents a shared responsibility between government agencies and the business sector, which reflects positively on the quality of services, preserves consumer rights, and enhances the attractiveness of the investment environment in the emirate.

He added that the commercial control and protection teams continue to implement their field campaigns according to operational plans targeting various economic sectors, while responding immediately to reports and complaints, and taking the necessary measures against violators in accordance with the applicable regulations, in addition to intensifying awareness initiatives aimed at spreading a culture of compliance among establishment owners and workers.

He pointed out that the department is working to employ modern technologies and digital transformation in implementing inspection and oversight operations, which contributes to raising the efficiency of performance, speeding up completion of procedures and improving the quality of oversight services, in line with best government practices.

The Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah confirmed that it will continue to implement its supervisory and awareness programs according to integrated plans, in a way that enhances the sustainability of compliance, establishes confidence in the markets, and supports the emirate’s position as a leading economic and investment destination that provides a safe, fair, and stimulating business environment for growth.
