Al-Ahly participates in the “Confederation” and Zamalek and Pyramids in the African Champions League

The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association decided today, Saturday, to approve the participation of Zamalek and Pyramids teams in the next edition of the African Champions League, and Al-Ahly and Zedd in the Confederation Championship.
The Egyptian Football Association said in an official statement today, Saturday, that the Board of Directors approved the Egyptian clubs participating in the African Champions League and the African Confederation Cup for the 2026-2027 sports season, as Zamalek and Pyramids participate in the African Champions League, while Al-Ahly and Zedd participate in the African Confederation Cup.
He added that it was decided to form a committee that includes Khaled Al-Dirandli, Tariq Abu Al-Enein, and Hamada El-Sherbiny, to determine the terms of renewing the contract with Hossam Hassan, the technical director of the first Egyptian national team, with the committee presenting the terms it reaches to Engineer Hani Abu Rida, president of the federation.
He explained that it was decided to appoint Essam Abdel Fattah as Chairman of the Referees Committee for the 2026-2027 sports season, provided that the formation of the committee will be presented during the next meeting of the Board of Directors. He stressed that it was decided to appoint Shawky Gharib as technical director of the Egyptian Football Association.
The Football Association also indicated that the Secretary-General’s memorandum regarding support for mass clubs, the percentage of television broadcasts, and competition prizes for the 2026-2027 sports season was approved, with the approval of the medical staff regulations for teams and national teams, provided that it will be implemented as of the 2026-2027 sports season.
