Pirlo continues with the Emirati “United”… and the administration is putting in place alternatives in anticipation of him coaching the Italian national team

An official source in the UAE club United confirmed that Italian legend Andrea Pirlo will continue in his position as technical director of the first team, which is currently holding a preparatory camp in Latvia, in preparation for competing in the new season of the ADNOC Professional League.

The source told Emirates Today: “At the present time, Andrea Pirlo continues to lead the team’s training in accordance with the approved technical and preparatory program, which includes the technical and physical aspects, and there has been no change in the team’s preparation plan.”

He added: “What is being said about the possibility of Pirlo moving to coach the Italian national team remains a possibility, given his great artistic value and his status as one of the most prominent legends of Italian football, but so far there has been no change in his status with the team.”

In a related context, Emirates Today learned that the United Club management has already begun studying the files of a number of experienced coaches, in anticipation of any developments that may arise during the coming period, with the aim of ensuring technical stability and not being affected by any possible decision, before the start of the professional league competitions, scheduled for next August 14.

According to the information, Pirlo’s first assistant, his compatriot Roberto Baronio, is considered the closest to taking over the technical task in the event of the Italian coach’s departure, after he worked alongside him in previous stops with Juventus, the Turkish Fatih Karagumruk, and Sampdoria, which makes him the natural choice for the administration if it prefers to maintain technical stability and continuity of the training approach.

Despite what Italian media reported about Pirlo’s approach to coaching the Italian national team, they have not yet indicated his arrival in Italy or holding an official meeting with Italian Football Federation officials, as the information circulating is limited to the existence of an initial agreement, pending the completion of official procedures and the final announcement.
