The United Nations General Assembly calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza
On Wednesday, the United Nations General Assembly adopted two decisions calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), which Israel is seeking to ban.
The results of the vote in the General Assembly consisting of 193 countries came as follows: 158 votes with support compared to 9 votes, and 13 refraining from demanding an immediate ceasefire, 159 supporters, 9 rejection, and 11 refusal to support UNRWA.

End of war
The vote came two days after letters that strongly urged the end of the 14 -month war between the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian resistance.
The decisions of the General Assembly are legally non -binding, but it reflects the opinion of the international community, as there is no veto (veto) in it, and the occupying state and its close ally, the United States, was within a small minority that spoke and voted against the two decision -making.
