Efforts of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs this year

The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs continued its distinguished path during the year 2024, achieving wide-ranging achievements in the fields of advocacy, thought and culture, embodied in a number of events, conferences and activities that confirm its pioneering role in serving Islam and society.  

The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs held the thirty-fifth annual international conference under the title “The First International Conference for Women Preachers: The Role of Women in Building Awareness,” which was held in the period from August 25 to 26, highlighting the importance of women and their pivotal role in promoting religious and intellectual awareness.  

During the holy month of Ramadan, the Council organized the Islamic Thought Forum at the Imam Hussein Mosque, may God be pleased with him, where scholars gathered And preachers to discuss issues of faith and piety, providing rich insights into Islamic values.  

The Council was also keen to strengthen its role in spreading the Holy Qur’an, as He participated in organizing the thirty-first edition of the International Holy Qur’an Competition, and held the fifth edition of the competition for foreign students studying at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, which culminated in the victory of one of the contestants and the representation of 20 contestants in the international competition.  

In continuation of his cultural role, The Council implemented eight educational camps targeting imams, female preachers, and expatriate students, providing advanced training programs aimed at developing their skills and enhancing their awareness. The Council also held 27 exhibitions to display and sell its publications, most notably its participation in the Cairo International Book Fair in its 55th session, achieving revenues exceeding 1.65 million pounds.  

In terms of publications, the Council printed 36 new books. Among them is the translation of “The Selected Book of Interpretation of the Meanings of the Holy Qur’an.” into Russian, German, and English, in addition to issuing 12 issues of “Minbar al-Islam” magazines. and “Al-Firdaws”, which were later converted into advanced electronic versions.  

As part of its support for international students, the Council provided 4,100 scholarships to students at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, in addition to exporting nine scientific libraries containing 1,444 scientific books. To nine different countries, which enhances its role in spreading moderate thought globally.  

On the one hand In addition, the year witnessed the holding of a large number of scientific and cultural events, including eight scientific committees and four cultural salons, in addition to the organization of 65 Hadith Majlis in major mosques, which included the reading of books such as “The Forty of Nawawi.” And “Muwatta of Imam Malik” And “Sahih Imam Al-Bukhari”. Council, including conferences, exhibitions and talk councils; Which strengthened its communication with the public.  

 

The Council sought to preserve the Islamic heritage, as it assigned a research group to search for rare books and recordings; Which resulted in the discovery of rare Qur’anic recitations and valuable heritage books that will be republished for benefit.  

 

The Council paid special attention to the Arabic language, as it organized electronic celebrations on the occasion of Arabic Language Day. On its official pages for an entire week, which confirms its commitment to supporting the language and strengthening its status.  

 

The Council also held a special exhibition on the House of God in Their mosques, highlighting the bright human aspects of their lives, to be a source of inspiration for generations in building a morally and spiritually cohesive society.  

 

In continuation of its efforts to support heritage, the Council organized Field training for students of the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion in Menoufia, to teach them how to verify heritage books, which confirms his interest in qualifying scientific cadres.
