Fujairah, December 28 / WAM / The Fujairah International Show Jumping Championship “Three Star Category” competitions continue on their second day, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and witnesses an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and fun.

The emerging Emirati rider, Mabkhout Awaida Al Karbi, on horseback, won the first place award in the first competition of the second day of the Fujairah International Show Jumping Championship in the three-star category, and won the lead in the first competition of the day in the small category, with the specifications of one round to collect points with the “Joker”, and he designed its course. With (10) hurdles, the height of which reached 115 cm, while the height of the “Joker” hurdle reached 130 cm, which is the hurdle that poses a challenge to the riders aspiring to Collect all 65 points in the fastest time.

52 male and female riders participated in today’s competitions, 9 of whom succeeded in collecting full points, so that the time factor became the final arbiter, the best being 42.29 seconds, recorded by the leading rider Mabkhout Al-Karbi, with the mare “Hollywood”, and the second place award was crowned by the Egyptian rider Ali Ahmed Arafat and the mare. “Finch” completed the task of collecting all the points in a time of 45.54 seconds, and the third place award went to the Syrian rider Sabri Badinki and the horse “Covinia” and finished the round of collecting points in a time of 48.98 seconds.

The Jordanian horsewoman, Sarah Hussein Al-Armouti, returned to shine again on the back of her horse, “Gladiator B”, and she had previously achieved a number of victories and advanced positions with him in international jumping competitions on equestrian fields in the Emirates, and this time she took the lead with him in the first two-stage competition witnessed by the Fujairah International Championship. The course was designed with barriers reaching a height of 130 cm, and 40 male and female knights competed in it, and completed the two stages. 14 of them were without a mistake, and the best time in the second stage was recorded by the leader, the female rider, Sarah, and reached 26.13 seconds. The second place award was won by the Uzbek rider Bekzod Kurbanov, accompanied by the mare “Lady”, and the third place award was won by the Belgian rider, Constant van Beyschen, who recorded 27.51 seconds in the second stage.

The Syrian rider, Shadi Gharib, riding the horse “Cabernet de Marche,” concluded the second day’s victories, winning the lead in the qualifying competition for the Grand Prix, becoming the first to qualify to participate in the competition for the championship title, which will be held at the conclusion of the championship competitions tomorrow evening.
The qualifying competition was according to the specifications of one round, and its course was designed with barriers reaching a height of 145 cm, and 28 male and female riders competed in it, and 8 riders completed the round without error, and with the time difference, the first place award was crowned by the rider Shadi Gharib with “Cabernet”, and he completed the round in a fast time of 65.83 seconds. The second place award was won by British jockey Lily Atwood, who was immediately next to the leader on the horse “Calvarous Up To.” “Deet”, with whom she completed the round in a time of 67.25 seconds, and then the German horsewoman Sophie Henners was crowned third place with the mare “Noraya”, and she finished the round with her in a time competing for second place, which was 67.97 seconds.

Two Emirati riders were guaranteed qualification to participate in the Grand Prix competition: the jockey Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi with the horse “König” and achieved fifth place with him, and the Olympic equestrian Sheikha Latifa bint Ahmed Al Maktoum, who participated with her horse “Al Bahi” and achieved sixth place with him.
