"Muslim sages" Braille is an important tool for spreading the values of tolerance and human coexistence

ABU DHABI, 4th January, 2018 (WAM) – The Council of Muslim Elders, headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, confirmed that the Council pays great attention to promoting the use of the Braille language as an important tool for spreading the values of dialogue, tolerance, peace and human coexistence.
The Council cooperated with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination in translating the Human Fraternity Document, which was signed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, in Abu Dhabi in 2019, into Arabic, English, and Italian Braille, with the aim of making it available to groups with disabilities. In a statement issued today on the occasion of World Braille Language Day, which falls on January 4 of each year, the Council stressed the importance of the “Braille language” as a bridge of communication between the blind and visually impaired and the various different sciences and knowledge, in addition to the fact that it enhances their positive integration with… Their communities, and increase the opportunities to benefit from their multiple abilities and skills in the renaissance and progress of nations and societies.
The Council stressed the need to work to employ modern technologies and artificial intelligence applications to make the best use of the Braille language, thus contributing to encouraging them to read, learn, be informed and engage in their communities.
He explained that Islam took care of those with insight, and called for facilitating the affairs of their lives in this world so that they would occupy the prestigious position that befits them, and promised them grants and blessings in the afterlife, so they were honored in both worlds, as they were people of high determination, and creative with their own abilities, and many of them achieved successes that no one else had ever achieved before them. In knowledge, philosophy, management, humanities, etc., Islamic history is replete with many of these honorable examples.
