The Ministry of Health and Population announced the issuance of 3 million and 934 thousand and 336 treatment decisions at state expense, at a cost exceeding 24 billion and 210 million and 719 thousand pounds, during the year 2024. This comes in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which aims to reduce the burden on citizens. And facilitating their access to comprehensive health care.
The doctor explained Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the number of beneficiaries of treatment decisions at state expense reached 2 million and 344 thousand and 603 citizens, noting that the decisions included a group of medical specialties, including hematology, oncology, surgery, gynecology, internal medicine, Nose and ear, bones, urinary tract, in addition to skin and nervous diseases.
Abdul Ghaffar said that the number of citizens who were debated via video conference technology reached 7,545 people. In implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to facilitate the procedures for patients to obtain medical and therapeutic services at the highest level, at state expense, without the need to personally attend the specialized medical councils and without burdening patients.
Abdul Ghaffar stated that the implementation of treatment decisions at state expense is carried out through hospitals affiliated with the Ministry at the level of all governorates of the Republic, and in cooperation with university hospitals, in addition to contracting with private and private hospitals, associations, institutions and civil work organizations. This is with the aim of serving the most needy groups.
For his part, Dr. Muhammad Zidan, Head of the Central Administration for Therapeutic Medicine and Director of the Department of Specialized Medical Councils, indicated that citizens wishing to obtain treatment services at state expense must go to the nearest Hospital to conduct the necessary medical examinations to diagnose their condition in preparation for writing the “Tripartite Commission Report.” After that, the hospital registers the patient’s data on the electronic network of the specialized medical councils, including a copy of the ID card, the Tripartite Commission report, in addition to the reports. And modern medical examinations, without burdening the patient with any hardship.
Zaidan pointed out that approval of the treatment request at state expense is done electronically from the main center of the specialized medical councils, and after that, the decision is issued and the patient is notified via text message on His mobile phone so that he can go to the hospital to receive the scheduled treatment service. To obtain treatment at state expense, the patient must not be a beneficiary of the health insurance system.
