"Sharjah for women’s sport" It celebrates the graduation of the first batch of sports media diploma

Sharjah, March 3 / WAM / The Sharjah Women Sports Foundation celebrated the graduation of the first batch of sports media diploma (sports analysis), which lasted six weeks and included 70 training hours with the participation of 14 affiliated with sports backgrounds in various games within a vision aimed at qualifying mathematical analysts that have technical foundations and media skills for sports analysis.

His Excellency Hanan Al -Mahmoud, Vice President of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, confirmed that the Sports Media Diploma comes in response to the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Foundation, which has long been keen to enhance the presence of women in the sports media scene by providing strong and correct content in a sound sporting language.

Al -Mahmoud explained that Her Highness recommended that a generation of mathematics be prepared with the importance and responsibility of the sound media appearance, which would educate viewers about sports and spread its culture positively and constructive.

She said, “This diploma is an advanced step towards enabling women’s competencies to offer accurate and innovative analytical readings that reflect the extent of the development witnessed by our women’s sport, and we bless all female graduates to achieve today, hoping that this program will constitute a gate towards a strong presence of women in local and international analytical studios.”

For its part, Moza Al Shamsi, Director of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, explained that the program focused on two main aspects; The first is a technician, how to read the results of the matches and analyze the performance of the teams and players by relying on statistics and technical data, and the second is an application focused on practical training in analytical studios and the use of the appropriate technical tools to review data and results professionally, allowing mathematics analyzes to provide integrated media content that enriches the sports scene and raises technical analysis to advanced levels.

On the criteria for selecting affiliates, Al -Shamsi said that all posts were chosen according to specific criteria, most notably the possession of a sporting background specialized in one or more game, as all posts are either players currently in the club or the national team or retired players or even members of the councils of sports departments and federations.

She added: “We were also keen on diversifying the sports represented in the program, as the list included various sports such as fencing, volleyball, shooting, basketball, etc. to ensure that there are analysts able to understand different games and enrich the analytical scene from multiple and varied angles.”

The diploma gives the participants an international certificate accredited by the North Carolina University, which enhances their opportunities to participate in the analytical studios of local and international championships and competitions and supports the future institutions’ plans to expand and develop the program in cooperation with more media and academic bodies.
