The Football Association announces Cosmin as the coach of the national team in the next few hours

“Emirates Today” learned that the Emirates Football Association intends during the next few hours to officially announce the contract with Romanian coach Olario Cosmin to lead the first national team, to succeed Portuguese coach Paulo Pinto, who was recently sacked against the background of the negative results recorded by “Al -Abyad” in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup Finals.
According to a source familiar with the details of the negotiations, contacts with Cosmin had stopped temporarily to allow him to focus with his team, Sharjah, in the AFC Champions League semi -final against Saudi cooperation, and because with the qualification of the “king” to the final match, the communication channels between the two parties were reopened, as negotiations accelerated in the past hours that approached the happy end.
The source added that the official announcement of the contract is imminent, and it may take place within hours, in light of the desire of the Football Association to gain time and prepare the team for the two decisive confrontations in the qualifiers against Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, scheduled for the fifth and tenth of next June.
The national team is currently ranked third in the first group ranking with 13 points, behind Uzbekistan (17 points) and the leading Iran (20 points), which officially guaranteed the first qualification card.
