Al -Darai calls for the establishment of a global platform for citizenship and deepening its concepts

The head of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, Dr. Omar Habtoor Al -Darai, called for the establishment of a global platform for citizenship, to study and deepen its concepts, and to form a scientific team of researchers and students, concerned with citizenship research and development, by analyzing data and providing recommendations to the competent authorities, studying the best global experiences, and exchanging experiences to find sustainable solutions that enhance sustainable solutions Citizenship, and the allocation of appreciation prizes for best practices and achievements that support the values ​​of citizenship, in addition to developing curricula and intellectual and religious contents from a perspective that enhances citizenship in various fields.

He said – during the opening of the conference of citizenship, identity and the values ​​of coexistence organized by the University of Mohammed bin Zayed for Humanities – that the conference addresses one of the prominent issues of our time, as it enhances local citizenship through the element of “identity”, and extends to include global citizenship through “the values ​​of coexistence”, indicating that universities and educational institutions concerned with religious education are the most appropriate place to open discussions and raise awareness on this topic.

He emphasized that “the UAE is a leading model at the global level”, pointing out that it “embodied the values ​​of peace and stability, and the hearts of people, and the coexistence and harmony of all components of the country and its partners, in a form that embodies the concept of citizenship with strong and wonderful blocks,” noting that “true citizenship that is embodied in preparing for sacrificing soul and money, and everything that man has for the sake His homeland, safety and defending it, as well as role models, education, education, family, society, and a human being.

Al -Darai presented several pillars that he sees the need to be considered in the treatment and enhancement of the subject of the values ​​of citizenship, identity and living values, the first is that universities and scientific institutions bear a major responsibility in scientific vigilance, and adopting a clear national vision in citizenship issues and correcting perceptions and concepts, and the second is that citizenship is a certainty that should not be suspicious or hesitation, so there is no neutrality in citizenship, and not a place for concessions or concessions Bargains.

He added that the third is the protection of citizenship with knowledge, conscience, behavior, studies, forums, speeches, tweets, choices and considerations, because citizenship is the greatest remedies described for extremist ideology that is fed up with citizenship and everything that is related to the homeland, and the fourth is the use of digital technology in promoting citizenship, monitoring, keeping pace with, evaluating and following up constantly, so citizenship protects Societies of hatred, discrimination, racism and chaos, and contribute to peace, tolerance, trust and hope in the future of humanity, and the fifth preserving the homeland as a basic pillar of “real citizenship is closely related to the state, as it is an obligation to the law, and a solid link with official institutions.”
