"Tourism and Antiquities in Fujairah " She celebrates World Heritage Day
Fujairah on April 18 / WAM / The Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Fujairah organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the Association of Urban Heritage on the occasion of World Heritage Day, an exhibition and a symposium entitled “Modern Architectural Heritage in the Emirates”, at the Al -Bahr Hotel and Resort, Emirates Hall, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi.
The symposium dealt with the importance of documenting and protecting modern architectural heritage as part of the national identity and urban development in the country, with the participation of a group of specialists.
His Excellency Saeed Al -Samahi, Director General of the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Fujairah, stressed that the modern architectural heritage represents a link between our ancient past and our future aspirations, and preserving it is a common responsibility that reflects our commitment to our national identity and our modern history and that these buildings bear the memories and stories of grandparents in that period.
This symposium is part of the department’s efforts to achieve its strategic goals in promoting cultural identity, preserving heritage, and activating cultural tourism in the emirate.
