His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, today, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, launched the “Our blessing” initiative that targets senior citizens, within the Abu Dhabi System for Comprehensive Society for Combating to improve the quality of their lives and ensure their well -being in addition to supporting the values ​​of family bonding and community cohesion.

This came during the reception of His Highness the delegation of the Community Development Department – Abu Dhabi headed by Dr. Mughair Khamis Al -Khaili, head of the department, and a delegation from the Family Development Foundation headed by Maryam Mohamed Al -Rumaithi, Director General of the Foundation, and representatives of the parties participating in the “Our blessing” initiative, in the Palace of the Sea Council in Abu Dhabi.

The initiative, which is supervised by the Community Development Department – Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Family Development Foundation and a number of bodies and institutions concerned with the social sector in the emirate, aims to enhance the efficiency of providing home care necessary for senior citizens in appropriate family conditions that guarantee them a stable and healthy life between their children and members of their families.

His Highness the President of the State stressed the importance of the initiative, meanings and the authentic values ​​that it represents, indicating that the senior citizens played their role in serving society and the renaissance of the country in various fields and their giving is still continuing and they have the right to take care of them and support them and improve the quality of their lives as an essential and effective component in society.

His Highness added that “the senior citizens are a warehouse of experience and secretaries on our authentic customs and traditions to transfer them to the new generations, as they are the blessing of life, and in their wisdom and insights, they enlighten the path of the new generation, and with their dedication and sincerity instill in the hearts and hearts of today’s youth and future leaders the meanings of fulfillment, giving and dedication for the sake of the homeland.”

The “Our blessing” initiative aims to consolidate family ties by developing an integrated community services system that contributes to alleviating life burdens and enhancing the ability of individuals to take care of their families from senior citizens efficiently by providing the necessary support to children and family members to achieve a balance between their personal, professional and social responsibilities, in a manner that ensures raising the quality of the lives of senior citizens and contributes to achieving family cohesion to build a cohesion society, embodies, embodies The authentic values ​​established in the UAE society.

In this context, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan adopted the services and programs of the “Our blessing” initiative, which includes six services supervised by a group of authorities concerned with the social sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which includes, along with the Community Development Department and the Family Development Corporation, both the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, the Municipalities and Transport Department, the Government Empowerment Department, and the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Center.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized that providing the necessary care for senior citizens and enhancing their well -being is a societal priority that receives the attention of the wise leadership, and a approach that instills in the hearts of the generations of the present and the future is a firm societal values ​​based on respect and appreciation of the sacrifices of senior citizens who contributed to building the UAE’s renaissance and development path.

Among the most prominent services provided by the initiative is to provide support to members of the families of senior citizens to obtain temporary home sponsorship for parents in some cases that require family support during the absence or preoccupation of children or their position in caring for senior citizens.
The initiative services also include support to the care of one of the parents to make improvements to the rehabilitation of facilities used by senior citizens residing at home in addition to extending the period of payment of housing loans for an additional five years to alleviate the financial burdens of children or family members who support senior citizens.

The initiative also includes many other services that aim to enhance the quality of the lives of senior citizens, including the service of activating the flexible work system for those in charge of their parents, according to specific requirements and criteria, with the aim of enabling them to provide the necessary care to the parents efficiently and effectively.
