The Appeals Committee in the Egyptian Federation postpones its decision regarding the Al -Ahly and Zamalek crisis

The Egyptian Football Association Appeals Committee postponed the announcement of its decision on the Zamalek and Al -Ahly match in the first round of the champion’s champion’s determination in the Egyptian League competition until May 15, due to the lack of reasons for the decision from the Association of Professional Clubs, according to a statement issued by the committee Thursday.
The committee requested the presence of Taha Aref, head of the Competitions Committee of the Club Association, to appear before it before taking the final decision in the incident.
The committee, which includes a group of advisers headed by Mohamed Abdou Saleh, held a meeting Thursday in which they discussed the crisis of Al -Ahly withdrawal from its match against Zamalek, which was scheduled for last March 11, in protest against the failure to appoint foreign referees to manage the match, despite the club’s request to do so and the Professional Clubs Association pledged to bring in a foreign referees team, which the Football Association refused to implement under the pretext of time limited.
The Competitions Committee issued its decision to consider Al-Ahly as a loser for the match with a score of 3-0 in addition to resolving 3 additional points from its score at the end of the league, before the board of directors of the Clubs Association cancel the decision to deduct the points, satisfying Al-Ahly as a loser to the match and the expenses that it caused by its withdrawal from it.
The association’s decision stated that Al -Ahly did not aim to raise a crisis or withdraw from the match, but rather tried to search for more justice to all parties, while the association’s requests and Al -Ahly club were not met with the recruitment of foreign referees due to the establishment of the first round of the champion’s determination of the league after only 5 days from the end of the first stage.
The Zamalek and Pyramids club filed a complaint with the Appeals Committee to request a decision to re -deduct the additional points from Al -Ahly, while Al -Ahly filed another complaint with the same committee, calling for the re -establishment of the match, as it refused to run for compulsive reasons related to not providing the association for its pledge to bring in foreign referees to manage it.
Pyramids is currently leading the ranking of the champion of the Egyptian League with 47 points and a difference of one point from Al -Ahly, and Zamalek comes third with 40 points. Each team remains four games before the end of the competition.
