The presence of Moroccan players in the Emirates League increases me proud

The second oldest Moroccan player in the ADNOC Professional Football League, striker of the Ajman Walid Azzaro team, who is currently running his fourth season with the “volcano”, expressed his happiness with his presence in a group of his country’s players, who are active in the ADNOC Professional League, stressing that this continuous presence of his country’s people reflects the value of the Moroccan player, and gives him an additional motivation for giving and excellence.
Azzaro told «Emirates Today» on the sidelines of the confrontation that his team fought against Al -Ain, which is led by his compatriot, Sufyan Rahimi: “We were here by a number of Moroccan players, and in every season we witness an increase in the number of players from my country, and at the beginning of this season, players moved here, and certainly this is something that makes me happy.”
It is currently active 21 Moroccan players registered in the lists of nine different clubs in the ADNOC Professional League, and Al -Ahly youth have the largest share with the presence of six players, followed by Ajman with five players, while one Moroccan coach, Hussein Amouta, is also training Al -Jazira team, and Amouta is also one of the names that previously played in the UAE league, as he previously worn the Sharjah shirt.
Of all the players, Al Ain striker, Sufyan Rahimi, is the most successful, as he led the “leader” last season to crown the AFC Champions League title, and won the award for the best player in the tournament, and won the golden shoe as the top scorer with 13 goals. Note that Rahimi is the oldest Maghreb players currently in the league.
The “volcano” striker stressed that the presence of this number of Moroccans in the competition holds him and his colleagues responsible for providing a bright picture, and said: “The presence of many players from Morocco in the UAE league definitely increases me proud, and he is also a responsibility to be at the level, and to open the doors for more Moroccan players to move to Emirati clubs.”
Commenting on the challenges when he faces players from his countrymen, as happened recently in his confrontation with Al Ain player Sufyan Rahimi, Azzaro explained: “Moroccan players know each other, whether with their confrontations in the Moroccan league before or even with national teams, there are challenges on the field, because you are working to do your role in the interest of the team that wears his shirt, and outside the stadium the friendships are continuing.”
Regarding his future with Ajman Club, the Moroccan star, who is playing his fourth season with the team, confirmed that he is still linked to a contract with the “volcano”, where he has so far played 88 games in the ADNOC Professional League, during which he scored 34 goals, confirming his continuation with the team.
On his absence from the Moroccan national team list, Azzaro, 29, commented, who had previously wore the “Atlas Lions” shirt, saying calmly and confidently: “All I have to focus on is to offer my best with a club, and the choice is the right of coach Walid Al -Rarkaki.”
