Kuala Lumpur, May 27 / WAM / on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, presided over His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the delegation of the United Arab Emirates in the work of the second summit of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States and the Association of Southeast Asian countries, “Asian”, which was held in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, under the slogan And sustainability, “in the presence of leaders, heads of government and representatives of member states.
In his speech before the participating leaders, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and his wishes for the success of the summit, expressing his thanks to the government and people of Malaysia for hosting the summit.
His Highness said: “We meet today not only as strategic partners, but as friends who have common values, mutual respect, and common ambition aimed at building a better and brighter future for our people. This summit is more than just a diplomatic gathering, it is a bridge of capabilities, linking hearts and minds across continents.”
His Highness praised the efforts made to prepare for the summit, with the aim of strengthening the partnership between the countries of the Cooperation Council and the countries of Southeast Asian “ASEAN”, and to raise it towards wider horizons, stressing that it is a testimony to what can be achieved when we go ahead together.
He added: “We in the UAE are firmly believed that purposeful progress comes through cooperation, dialogue, and investment in partnerships that extend through cultures and continents. We also draw inspiration from energy, innovation and ambition that distinguishes the countries of Asian, in their rise as a beacon for progress, realism and peace, and while the Persian Gulf stands as a natural gate to Southeast Asia, we realize the vital role that Asian plays as a center for trade Global, innovation and opportunities.
His Highness affirmed the commitment of the UAE to enhance cooperation through the framework of the joint work between the Cooperation and Asian Council for the period 2024-2028, which covers major sectors that include trade, investment, energy, digital transformation, sustainable development, adding that this partnership is not only a platform for economic compatibility but also for cultural exchange and joint understanding and the foresight of a future with the features of confidence, innovation, and common humanity.
His Highness concluded his speech by saying: “By remembering our history, honoring our partnerships, and understanding each other, we draw a future worth seeking for it. We in the UAE affirm our fixed commitment to this partnership – as a firm friend, a reliable ally, and an active contribution to our joint progress, and we hope that our cooperation continues to shine as a model of what can be achieved when the regions unite with a goal and a common vision.”
The summit was opened with a speech by His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, during which he welcomed the participants, stressing the importance of the summit in supporting economic cooperation and enhancing growth opportunities between the countries of the Cooperation Council and the “ASEAN” countries, as well as supporting the efforts of sustainable development, peace, security, and stability, in the face of regional and international challenges.

The UAE delegation participating in the summit included Sheikh Khalid bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Vice -Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investment and Development Office in Ras Al -Khaimah, His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Muhammad Al -Sayegh, Minister of State, His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al -Murre, Minister of State, His Excellency Khalil Muhammad Sharif Fulayh The Kingdom of Malaysia, and His Excellency Abdullah Salem Al -Dhaheri, the country’s ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia and the Assyrian League.
