Griezmann extends his contract with Atletico Madrid until 2027

Former French international striker Antoine Griezmann, the 2018 World Cup Russia champion, extended his contract with his team Atletico Madrid until 2027, according to Monday, the third Spanish Football League last season.
“Griezmann and Atletico reached an agreement to extend the French player’s contract until June 30, 2027,” the Capital Club said in a statement.
Griezmann, 34, imposed himself as the best scorer in the history of Atletico, where he scored 197 goals during two periods spent in the corridors of the club, knowing that his previous contract was to end in 2026.
The level of the veteran striker decreased this year, as his last goal dates back to February, while Atletico ranked third in “La Liga” behind Barcelona, the champion and the second pole of the capital, the second Real.
Griezmann, who scored one of his goals in the victory over Croatia 4-2 in the 2018 World Cup final, moved to Atletico in 2014 from Real Sociedad. The former international striker won the European League competition “Europa League” in 2018, and a summer and summer of the Champions League champions twice with Atletico, before joining Barcelona in 2019.
Griezmann suffered to impose himself with the Catalonia giant alongside a group of stars, most notably Argentine Lionel Messi, only winning the King’s Cup before returning on loan to Atletico in 2021, to become the final transfer.
