The spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Jarrah bin Muhammad Al -Jarrah, explained that the sites devoted to mining activities included four sites in the Riyadh region, which are the “Tamir 2” complex in Al -Majma’a Governorate on an area of “1,99” square kilometers, and the Afif Governorate complex with an area of “10,38” square kilometers, and the Al -Tiri complex in Ramah Governorate, which covers an area of “37,88” square kilometers, And the “Dawadmi Governorate 6” complex, which has an area of “30,62” square kilometers.
Al -Jarrah indicated that the ministry has allocated in the Makkah Al -Mukarramah region a site for the establishment of the East Fayyad Al -Massin Complex for Mining Activities in Taif Governorate with an area of “25,0089” square kilometers, while in the Asir region it was devoted to the expansion of the plateau complex and clues in Bisha Governorate, with an increase in its total area to become “72,78” square kilometers, while it was allocated in the Al -Baha area a site in the area To set up the northern Wadi Al -Hijr complex in Al -Hoser Governorate, its area is covered by “0.66” square kilometers.
Enhancing investor confidence and protecting mining sites
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources stressed that the establishment of mining complexes enhances the principles of governance in the mining sector, increases its transparency, raises the confidence of investors in it, and contributes to protecting mining sites from irregular violations, and also plays an important role in achieving elements of sustainability with mining projects, pointing to the attention that the ministry pays to preserve the environment, health, occupational safety, and motivation of societies Local to participate in the mining sector growth paths according to the mining investment system.
The mining complexes contribute to the development of the neighboring areas, by employing the people of these areas in mining projects, raising the percentage of purchases from local markets, developing plans to communicate effectively in the area surrounding the project, and raising the level of compliance with the necessary environmental requirements in the sites of mining activities and the surrounding societies, and rehabilitation and closure of mining sites.
