Announcing the lists of candidates for the Emirates Chess Elections

The Electoral Committee of the UAE Chess Federation announced the initial lists of candidates for the elections of the Board of Directors for the session (2025-2028), scheduled for next September 21 at the headquarters of the Sharjah Chess and Culture Club.
The union’s extraordinary general assembly, which was held last July, approved the electoral lists system to include each list of seven members, including a female component.
The initial lists included two lists, the first headed by Tarim Matar Tarim, the candidate for the presidency of the Federation, and with him six candidates: Ahmed Ali Shahdad, Muhammad Abdul Rahim Al -Mulla, Abdul Karim Hassan Al Marzouqi, Dana Raynis, Basem Samir Amin, and Amna Rashid Al -Kindi.
As for the second list, it was headed by Ismail Ibrahim Khoury as a candidate for the president’s seat, along with six candidates: Fouad Ibrahim Darwish, Khaled Muhammad Hussein Khoury, Muhammad Abdul Latif Al -Hakim, Abdullah Hassan Al Hammadi, Muhammad Wasim Walid and Shams Saif Al -Hinai.
For his part, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Hussein Abdullah bin Rashid, said in press statements: “The chapter on appeals on the initial lists will open from tomorrow Saturday for a period of three days, provided that the final lists will be announced on September 6, that is, 15 days before the electoral general assembly date according to the regulations.”
He added that “the appeals on the election result will start on September 22, and continue until the 27th of the same month, provided that the appeals committee issues its decisions regarding the appeals submitted during the period from 28 to 30 September, while the final results are approved and announced on the first of next October.”
