Sharjah, September 10 /WAM /Academy emphasized that artificial intelligence is a supportive tool for achieving and promoting sustainable development and stressed that investment in the field of artificial intelligence is a strategic step towards building more aware and sustainable societies.
Dr. Hisham Abbas, Dean of the College of Communication at Al Qasimia University, said in a statement during his participation in the International Forum for Governmental Communication held in Sharjah that the workshop that he presented this year in the forum under the title “Towards the Future: Man and Artificial Intelligence”, focused on the complementary relationship between man and modern technologies, stressing that artificial intelligence cannot replace man, but rather a supportive tool for him that contributes to achieving sustainable development that the state seeks to Establishing it, especially in light of the accelerated development in the digital fields.
He described the forum as a real opportunity for students of communication to interact with various professional and scientific experiences, opening up prospects for them to understand their professional future, and help them form a clear vision about the paths that suit their capabilities and skills, explaining that professional guidance is an essential element in supporting students, as well as academic, psychological and social guidance.
He stressed that the media specialization, in its various paths, is witnessing fundamental transformations in light of the technical revolution, which requires preparing a generation of media professionals capable of positive interaction with the tools of the future, stressing the keenness of the Qasimiya University to prepare its students according to the highest scientific and professional standards.
In turn, Dr. Ahmed Farouk, Head of Public Relations Department at the College of Communication at the University of Sharjah, stressed that sustainability issues have become one of the most prominent issues of priority in the agendas of societies and institutions, noting that the new in this field is how to employ modern technology, especially artificial intelligence techniques in supporting sustainability efforts and spreading societal awareness.
Farouk discussed during his participation today in one of the workshops of the International Forum for Governmental Communication 2025, the importance of integrating the tools of artificial intelligence into the awareness campaigns of sustainability, whether in the fields of climate, food, economy, business sector, and others.
He explained that artificial intelligence can contribute to the production of advanced awareness media content, which enhances the effectiveness of communication messages, and helps to adopt sustainable behaviors that preserve the environment and natural resources, noting that the use of these technologies contributes to simplifying complex scientific concepts and presenting them to the public in a smooth and attractive manner, which increases their understanding and response.
