platform "Zindi" : We invest in the minds of youth to convert artificial intelligence into a sustainable development tool

Sharjah, September 11 / WAM / Selena Lee, founding partner and CEO of “Zindi” platform, confirmed that artificial intelligence is no longer just a future technique, but rather has become a vital tool for empowering young people in the Middle East and Africa, by harnessing their advanced skills in finding innovative solutions to real challenges facing governments and societies.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, “WAM”, on the sidelines of the Government Communication Forum, she explained to me that the “Zindi” platform succeeded in building a technical community that includes more than 100,000 developers specializing in artificial intelligence, working in a participatory manner to develop applied solutions.

She said: We are taking a realistic challenge, such as predicting traffic congestion in cities, and we put it in front of the community of our developers, and during a period that often for two months, they compete to build the best solutions, while obtaining continuous feedback that contributes to refining their skills.

She added that the intellectual property of the final solutions belongs to the challenge, which guarantees the transfer of innovations from the theoretical framework to actual implementation on the ground, noting their fruitful cooperation with the Barbados government as a successful example of this model.
Regarding its vision of the future in the region, Selena described the UAE as a “very promising environment”, given its ambitious and passionate youth to develop its skills in advanced technology, and stressed that the impact of artificial intelligence has now includes all vital sectors, from government services and health care to education and the financial sector.
She concluded her speech with a clear message, saying: It is necessary for governments to invest in the digital skills of their youth. Artificial intelligence is not just a future for technology, but rather the key to sustainable development and the smart shift that leads the world.
