The Islamic Forum in Sharjah reviews the contributions of Muslims to the paths of human civilization

Sharjah, September 23 /WAM /The work of the scientific symposium organized by the Islamic Forum in Sharjah under the title “Intellectual Contributions for Muslims in Civilization and its Contemporary Applications” started today with the participation of a group of academics and researchers specializing in the areas of thought and civilizational studies, as part of the forum’s efforts to revive the Islamic scientific heritage and link it to contemporary reality.

On its first day, the symposium dealt with the topic of “civilizational achievements for Muslims in the world” and Dr. Mohamed Awad gave a lecture in which he highlighted the contributions of Muslim scholars in the fields of natural and astronomical sciences, medicine and engineering, in addition to philosophy, literature and arts.

He stressed that the Islamic civilization formed a fundamental tributary of human knowledge, and contributed to the transfer of science from east to the West, which paved the way for the renaissance of modern Europe, pointing to the role of Muslim scholars in developing scientific curricula, and their dependence on experience and observation as research tools preceding its era.

The symposium witnessed a remarkable presence of academics, university students and those interested in Islamic heritage, which influenced discussions and interventions.

His Excellency Dr. Majid Bushleibi, Secretary -General of the Islamic Forum, explained that the two -day symposium deals with a pivotal topic that touches the essence of the cultural and scientific identity of the nation, stressing that the Islamic civilization was a source of science and knowledge that contributed effectively to enriching human civilization.
