Syria .. Sharia issues a new decree that cancels a number of official holidays

Today, Sunday, the Syrian President of the Transitional stage, Ahmed Al -Shara, issued a new decree that carried the number 188 of 2025, specifying the official holidays and holidays in Syria, with the cancellation of a number of holidays that were previously valid.

The decree included the cancellation of the anniversary of the October 6, 1973 war, which was considered an official national holiday, and the Martyrs’ Day holiday on May 6, which commemorated the execution of a group of Syrians at the hands of Ottoman rule in 1916 in Damascus.
