"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language" Organizes a program to support dialogue management skills

ABU DHABI, October 10 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Youth Council, organized the “Writing and Managing Dialogue” program, which was presented by an elite group of Emirati media professionals, during the period from 6 to 9 October, at its headquarters in the capital, Abu Dhabi.

The program aimed to develop the capabilities of the participating trainees in writing dialogues, managing constructive discussions, and enhancing their ability to express their ideas in a clear and sound language, in addition to providing them with the skills of conducting fruitful dialogues, by learning their basics, formulating appropriate questions, completing basic messages, and mastering the elements of public speaking, which gives them a high ability to interact immediately.

The program is divided into three sessions daily. On the first day, novelist and media personality Lulwa Al Mansouri presented sessions entitled “The Basics of Writing Dialogues,” which she began with an introduction to creativity in writing, her role in dialogue sessions, its importance in formulating the content of dialogues, and how to extract creative ideas from daily experiences.

This was followed by a session on creative language and expression techniques, the use of rhetorical images, metaphors and similes, and methods for drafting texts that stimulate interaction, while the third session focused on structuring the dialogue, the importance of logical sequence in presenting the idea, and highlighting the character’s voice through style, choosing vocabulary and tone, while achieving a balance between brevity and detail, to keep the dialogue attractive and interesting.

The second day, presented by writer and journalist Ali Obaid Al Hameli, focused on “dialogue techniques and message building.” Its first session began with formulating basic messages and linking them to the session’s goals, while applying practical exercises on transforming ideas into convincing expressions. Then, a pre-planning session for the dialogue session, how to choose the topic, define the goal, and prepare effective questions. The day concluded with a simulation session for public speaking. It included exercises on body language, eye contact, tone of voice, and exercises on dealing with unexpected interventions.

As for the third day, it was devoted to the topic of “Managing Sessions and Applications of Public Speaking,” and was presented by the journalist Amer Bin Jassas. The first session dealt with the elements of effective public speaking, such as tone of voice, rhythm, body language, and eye movements, with exercises in reading from written texts.

The second session focused on timekeeping techniques, distributing roles, motivating the audience, managing discussions, and controlling the flow of dialogue, while the third session dealt with improvisation and immediate interaction, with exercises on quick thinking and providing appropriate responses.

The program concluded on the fourth day with “Measuring the Trainees’ Development” sessions, which began with preparing dialogue texts and evaluating them according to the standards of structure, coherence, and clarity, in addition to a session on skills for organizing sessions to control time, distribute roles, and sequence of discussion, and an effective communication session that included practical activities in asking stimulating questions, active listening, and motivating the audience.

The confidence session in front of the audience also dealt with presentation and discussion skills in a confident and convincing voice, followed by a closing session that focused on self- and professional evaluation by preparing a personal development plan that identifies three strengths and three opportunities for improvement for each trainee.

The “Writing and Managing Dialogue” program comes within the framework of the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, to enhance and empower the Arabic language, by launching programs and training courses, aimed at encouraging members of society to read, read, and sustain knowledge, as they are basic and important tools that translate the principles of the “Year of Society.”
