The Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Authority discusses international cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector with the Minister of Foreign Affairs

Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, held a meeting with His Excellency Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Abroad Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, to discuss ways to enhance international cooperation in the field of medicine, and to support the state’s efforts to increase Egyptian pharmaceutical exports and medical services to regional and global markets.
During the meeting, Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy expressed his deep appreciation. For the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in supporting international cooperation files, stressing that the integration of roles between national institutions is one of the most important pillars of enhancing the status of Egyptian medicine at the regional and international levels. And international organizations.
The Chairman of the Authority indicated that close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs represents an essential axis in supporting Egyptian pharmaceutical diplomacy and opening new markets for national pharmaceutical products, which contributes to supporting the national economy and enhancing pharmaceutical security.
For his part, Minister Badr Abdel Aty praised the pioneering role played by the Egyptian Medicines Authority in developing the national pharmaceutical system, stressing that the Authority has become a model. Institutionally, it is a role model regionally and internationally, with its strong pharmaceutical system and globally recognized regulatory standards.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also praised the efforts made by the Authority in supporting the file of the African Medicines Agency (AMA) and the active participation in the regional technical committees, which reflects Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting health integration within the African continent.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Abu Bakr Hafni, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and from the Authority’s side, Dr. Osama Hatem, Assistant to the Chairman of the Authority for Policy and International Cooperation, and Supervisor of the Central Administration for Pharmaceutical Policies and Market Support.
The Egyptian Medicines Authority confirms that the meeting comes within the framework of its continued keenness to strengthen cooperation with various state institutions, and to support national efforts aimed at consolidating Egyptian pharmaceutical diplomacy, expanding pharmaceutical exports, and enhancing Egypt’s presence in the African and international system. For medicine, which supports its position as a leading regional center for the manufacture, regulation and export of medicine.
