Ahmed Saleh praises Youssef Abdel Aziz: A new champion appears in the skies of African table tennis

Egyptian table tennis legend Ahmed Saleh, former Egyptian national team and Zamalek club player, praised the brilliance of player Youssef Abdel Aziz during the recent African Championship, stressing that the African continent is witnessing the birth of a new champion capable of competing with the greats of the game.

Saleh wrote on his official page on the social networking site Facebook, saying: “Today we can say that a new champion has emerged for the African continent. He is able to share the African and international wins with the current champions, Omar Asr and Aruna Quadri.

It is noteworthy that Youssef Abdelaziz had qualified for the final of the African Championship in the singles competitions, before winning the silver medal after a strong marathon match against Omar Asr, which ended with the latter winning 4-3.

Youssef also succeeded in winning the men’s doubles gold alongside Mohamed El-Beili after defeating The Algerian duo in the final match, and continued their brilliance by winning the mixed doubles gold with Maryam Al-Hudaibi after defeating Badr Mostafa and Marwa Al-Hudaibi in an all-Egyptian final.

Youssef Abdelaziz is considered one of the most important members of the Egyptian table tennis team, as he occupies the top spot in the local rankings, and also occupies third place in Africa behind the Nigerian Aruna Quadri and the Egyptian champion Omar Asr.
