Surprise: Egypt’s women’s national football team advances to the 2026 African Nations Finals

The Egyptian Football Association received a notification from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). By qualifying the first national women’s football team for the 2026 African Cup of Nations finals after amending the tournament system by “CAF” To be held with the participation of 16 teams instead of 12 teams.

The women’s national football team had risen to face its Ghanaian counterpart in the final stage of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations, before the Ghanaian team achieved victory and advanced to the finals of the tournament.

The African Confederation surprised everyone by changing the tournament system in the last moments to give the kiss of life to the girls of the Egyptian team.
