Spain congratulates Dr. Khaled Al-Anani on his election as Director-General of UNESCO

The Embassy of Spain in Egypt congratulated Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, former Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, on the occasion of his election, today, Thursday, as the new Director-General of UNESCO for the period from 2025 to 2029.

The General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), had approved earlier today the election of Dr. Khaled. Al-Anani was appointed as the new Director-General of UNESCO, during the elections held today, Thursday, in the city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
