UAE judo wins the first gold medal in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh

Emirates judo national team player, Bashirat Kharudi, won the first gold medal for the Emirates in the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games (ISSA), which began yesterday, Friday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, where 147 male and female judo players from 32 countries, including 12 Arab countries, participated in the sport, and her culmination came with her victory over Kazakhstan’s champion Iova Tolganay in the under-52 kg fight, which It includes 12 prominent ranked players. She also defeated Uzbekistan’s champion, Mukha Yu Akhmatova, and in the gold final, she defeated Tajikistan’s silver champion, Medina Qarbutroda, so our player won the gold medal with all merit and efficiency, placing UAE judo among the leading teams.
Mohammed bin Thaloub Al-Dari, President of the Judo Federation, was keen to congratulate the National Olympic Committee and the gold medalist, Bashirat, who continued to shine in 2025, stressing that the opportunity still exists to win more medals through judo during the tournament.
