The Grand Egyptian Museum receives 19,000 visitors daily

The Grand Egyptian Museum continues to receive its visitors for the seventh day in a row since its opening to the public on November 4. More than 12,000 visitors, both Egyptians and foreigners, visited it from the early morning until two o’clock this afternoon.
Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, said that the visitation movement is proceeding completely smoothly, as about 17,000 visitors visited the museum yesterday, enjoying a distinguished visit and experience.
He added that the average number of visitors since The museum began receiving the public on November 4 and until yesterday, it reached about 19 thousand visitors per day, which reflects the great demand for visits to the museum from different groups and nationalities.
The CEO pointed out that the increasing public demand from various countries of the world reflects the international status that the Grand Egyptian Museum now occupies as one of the most important cultural and tourism destinations in the world, stressing the administration’s keenness to continue providing an exceptional experience for every visitor.
It is worth noting that the Grand Egyptian Museum was officially opened by Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on November 1, amid a major international celebration attended by 79 official delegations, including 39 delegations headed by kings, princes, and heads of state and government. The museum began receiving the public on November 4, coinciding with the centenary of the discovery of the tomb of the golden king Tutankhamun.
