Ayat Ibrahim reveals the scenes behind winning a historic medal at the World Beach Rowing Championships in Turkey
Ayat Ibrahim, a player in the Egyptian beach rowing team, revealed the behind-the-scenes of achieving the historic achievement of winning the silver medal and second place in the World Beach Rowing Championship, which was held in the Turkish city of Antalya during the period from 6 to 9 November, with the participation of an elite group of the most prominent international teams.
She said that she prepared for the championship during a month and a half of intensive training, including a camp in Ain Sokhna in order to raise her weight. Technical readiness to compete in the championship competitions.
Ayat Ibrahim, a player in the Egyptian beach rowing team, pointed out that they did their best during the competitions until they reached the semi-finals and were able to beat the Turkish team on their home soil and among their fans and grab the ticket to qualify for the final.
Ayat Ibrahim indicated that they continued preparing for the final match and turning the page on the team’s match. The Turkish team worked to achieve the gold medal and competed with all strength and determination to win, but luck played its part and the gold medal went to the English team and they won the silver in an unprecedented Egyptian achievement.
She expressed her happiness with this medal, which will be an incentive for her to achieve more achievements in the upcoming events in which she represents the Egyptian team. She thanked the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Rowing Federation, headed by Major General Sherif El-Gamaty, for their support during the last period and providing All the necessary technical capabilities in preparation for the tournament.
