"Abu Dhabi Sports" Announcing a race track "Pike gran fondue"

ABU DHABI, 20 November / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Sports Council announced the route of the fourth edition of the “Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo” bicycle race, scheduled to be held next December 21, starting from the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain and arriving at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Al Wathba area in Abu Dhabi, for a distance of 150 km.

Participating cyclists pass through a number of main roads in the Al Ain area, including Tawam Street, Al Rawda Street, and Razin Road, before reaching the finish line in Abu Dhabi at the Sheikh Zayed Festival.

The track includes five water refueling points to ensure the comfort and safety of participants throughout the race.

This year’s race features long straight tracks, in addition to some very gentle inclines and climbs, making it suitable for both professional racers and aspiring amateurs.

His Excellency Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, stressed that the race is an essential pillar in the emirate’s journey to become a global destination for cycling sports, noting that the fourth edition witnesses a significant increase in the value of the prizes to reach two million dirhams distributed among 364 winners, which reflects the continuous expansion and development of the event.

He said that this year’s edition starts from the Al Ain region and ends in Abu Dhabi, providing a new experience for participants after three previous editions in which the race started in the opposite direction.

The race is part of the “Bike Abu Dhabi” platform and its annual initiatives that aim to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, improve the quality of life, and embody the emirate’s commitment to making cycling an essential part of society’s life.
