Emirati-Kuwaiti cooperation to establish "Space research center" And exchange of technical experiences

KUWAIT, 1st December / WAM / The visit of the delegation of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center to the sisterly State of Kuwait witnessed the signing of a strategic memorandum of understanding with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, aiming to establish a comprehensive framework for cooperation in space sciences and remote sensing, and the implementation of joint projects to develop satellites, in a step that supports Kuwait’s efforts to establish its national center for space research.
During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, received, at Bayan Palace, His Excellency Salem Humaid Al-Marri, Director-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and the accompanying delegation, where they discussed prospects for cooperation with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and opportunities for developing qualitative partnerships that contribute to advancing the process of innovation, development and scientific development between the two brotherly countries.
The meeting was attended by Abdulaziz Dakhil Al-Dakhil, Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Sheikh Dr. Mishal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director-General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Dr. Amina Rajab Farhan, Director-General of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, and His Excellency Dr. Matar Hamid Al-Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Kuwait.
The new memorandum of understanding aims to develop national capabilities, exchange technical expertise, and launch specialized training and research programs in the two countries, in addition to benefiting from space data applications to support sustainable development, which contributes to consolidating the presence of the UAE and Kuwait in the regional and international space scene.
The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences explained that this partnership comes in the context of developing a national research base that enables young Kuwaiti competencies to engage in pioneering technical programs, while the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center confirmed that the visit represents an important step towards strengthening joint Arab action in the space sector, and building an advanced scientific system based on knowledge, research and innovation.
