Cairo shines in Arab forums.. Best Arab Governor Award for"Ibrahim Saber"
Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, expressed his happiness at winning the Arab Government Excellence Award in its fourth session 2024 – 2025, in the category of Best Arab Governor, stressing that this honor reflects the unprecedented development boom that the capital has witnessed over the past years.
The Governor of Cairo thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, pointing out that the national and development projects that the capital has received since he assumed responsibility for leading the state, had the greatest role in improving the quality of life of citizens and enhancing Cairo’s ability to compete locally. And regionally, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Saber stressed that the award represents the culmination of what has been accomplished in the areas of development, services and infrastructure, and the consolidation of Cairo’s position as an Arab model in modern local administration, and the support of regional partnerships to serve the state’s orientations towards sustainable development.
The Governor of Cairo indicated that the Asmarat project won the award. The best local community development initiative in the Arab world is a regional testimony to the success of the Egyptian state in providing a decent life for the people of unplanned areas, and consolidating the principle of building humanity in an advanced civilized environment. He stressed that Asmarat was the starting point for a comprehensive plan to eliminate slums, as approximately 112 areas were developed at the governorate level.
Saber thanked Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly for his continued support of the capital’s projects, and Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, for Its efforts in supporting the governorates and improving the efficiency of local work.
The governor also greeted his deputies, district heads, executive leaders and workers in Cairo Governorate, stressing that they are the true partners of success in the spirit of one team, in addition to his appreciation for civil society for its supportive role in achieving these successes.
He expressed his gratitude to those in charge of the Arab Government Excellence Award, for the support provided by the United Arab Emirates, and for the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, And to the Arab Organization for Administrative Development.
At the conclusion of his statements, the Governor of Cairo thanked his family for their continued support, stressing his commitment to continuing to work in accordance with the directives of the political leadership, completing efforts to improve services, and preserving the status and identity of Cairo within the framework of building the new republic.
