Etihad Airways launches three weekly flights to Kazan, Russia

Abu Dhabi, 4 December / WAM / Etihad Airways launched its inaugural flight to Kazan today, creating a direct link between Abu Dhabi and one of the fastest growing Russian cities in the heart of the Republic of Tatarstan.
According to a press release issued by the carrier, the new route, which operates three flights per week, makes it easier to reach this destination, as the flight from Abu Dhabi to Kazan takes just over five hours.
Flight EY839 landed at Kazan International Airport this afternoon, where it was received with an official welcome, marking the launch of a new route for business and leisure travellers. The service operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
On this occasion, Natalia Gorenova, Director of Etihad Airways’ office in Russia, said: Through our main hub in Abu Dhabi, passengers can enjoy seamless connections between Kazan, Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, the GCC region and Australia, providing them with exceptional travel opportunities across Etihad’s global network in both directions.
The Kazan route is the latest step in Etihad’s plan to expand its network in 2025, which includes multiple new destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.
This seasonal winter service will continue until April 19, 2026, with plans to resume it next winter season.
