Al-Wahda retains the President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup title

Arif Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, crowned Al Wahda Club the winner of the His Highness the President of the State Jiu-Jitsu Cup for the over-18 category, after the conclusion of today’s competitions, which were held at the Mubadala Arena – Abu Dhabi.
Al-Awani congratulated the crowned champions, stressing that winning the most expensive championship title embodies the commitment, discipline and continuous work provided by the players throughout the season, praising the pioneering role played by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation in developing the game and creating champions capable of representing the country in the largest forums.
The competitions were attended by Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri and Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, members of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Ali Saeed Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Wahda Sports and Cultural Club, Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Director of the Technical Department at the Federation, and Abdullah Salem Al Zaabi, Director of the Marketing and Corporate Communications Department at the Federation, along with a number of representatives of participating partners, clubs and academies.
Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri said that the His Highness the President of the State’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup Championship represents an exceptional value for players and clubs, and an exemplary station for displaying their abilities, and a test of the technical level that the game has reached locally. We are happy with the level at which the competitions appeared this year, which reflects the great development in the players’ performance and the high discipline they presented on the mat.
He added, “We extend our deepest thanks to the wise leadership for its unlimited support for the sports sector in general and for jiu-jitsu in particular. This support forms the basis that enables our sport to grow and prosper, and gives our players the confidence to give their best in the various tournaments. We also appreciate the great efforts made by the clubs in preparing their players and developing their potential, as they are a major partner in the successes achieved by Emirati jiu-jitsu at the local and international levels.”
For his part, Obaid Muftah Al Mahrezi, President of Al Wahda Sports Company, said that achieving the title of His Highness the President of the State’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup is a major achievement that translates into continuous work over months of preparation and planning. The players performed at exceptional levels and were able to maintain their focus in the most difficult moments of the tournament.
He added that maintaining the title holds great value for the club, its technical staff and the players, and confirms that investing in talent and commitment to training pays off on major dates. We will build on this achievement to continue developing our teams and strengthen our presence in future tournaments.
In turn, Omar Al Suwaidi, Al Wahda Club player, said that winning the His Highness the President of the State Jiu-Jitsu Cup title is a moment that will remain in memory. The tournament was strong and the competition was difficult in every round, but we prepared well and entered each fight with confidence and focus. This achievement gives us greater motivation to work and develop, and increases our responsibility to represent the club in the best way.
