We will rebuild a strong Syria from east to west

Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa on Monday urged the Syrians to unite their efforts in order to build a strong Syria from east to west, and to consolidate its stability, amid celebrations that spread across major cities, including Damascus, to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s rule.
After performing the dawn prayer at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, Al-Sharaa said, “The current stage requires unifying the efforts of all the people of the country, to build a strong Syria, consolidate its stability, preserve its sovereignty, and achieve a future worthy of the sacrifices of its people.”
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) quoted Al-Sharaa as saying, in a speech on the anniversary of the liberation after dawn prayers: “No one will stand in our way, no matter how big or great, and no obstacles will stand in our way, and we will all face all challenges.”
He added: “From its north to its south, from its east to its west… We will restore Syria strong with a building worthy of its present and its past… with a building worthy of Syria’s ancient metropolis… We will rebuild it.”
He explained that: What awaits us is not just a political transition, but an opportunity to rebuild shattered societies and heal deep divisions, noting that it is an opportunity to build a homeland in which every Syrian, regardless of his race, religion, gender, or political affiliation, can live in safety, equality, and dignity.
Al-Sharaa, who appeared in a green military uniform that he wore when he arrived in Damascus a year ago, stressed that “preserving this victory and building on it today constitutes the greatest duty placed on the shoulders of all Syrians.”
Al-Sharaa placed a piece of the Holy Kaaba in the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, which was a gift given to him by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to the agency.
Al-Sharaa commented on this, in his speech, saying: “We chose to have this piece in the Umayyad Mosque, so as to unite countries and extend the bonds of love and brotherhood from Mecca to the Levant, and we chose to inaugurate it in the first moments of the anniversary of the victory.”
Today at dawn, the minarets of mosques in the majority of Syrian governorates raised the takbeers, marking the start of Liberation Day activities in Syria on the first anniversary of the fall of the Assad regime.
The Syrian governorates announced a group of events and activities to commemorate the liberation, starting with the raising of the takbeers and continuing until dawn.
Today, the Syrian Postal Corporation issued five stamps and a commemorative card to celebrate the first anniversary of liberation, within the framework of its role in documenting the most prominent national occasions through postal issues.
