Dubai Chamber of Commerce launches Bulgarian Business Council

DUBAI, 12 December, 2017 (WAM) – The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, announced the establishment of the Bulgarian Business Council, which aims to enhance economic cooperation, stimulate partnerships between the business communities in Dubai and Bulgaria, and expand the scope of investment cooperation across various sectors.

The first meeting of the Council, which was held at the Dubai Chambers headquarters, discussed ways to develop investments and promising business opportunities, improve relations between Bulgarian companies and their counterparts operating in Dubai, share experiences and data, in addition to organizing bilateral business events.

The establishment of the Bulgarian Business Council comes in light of the growing position of Dubai as an international center for Bulgarian companies and investors, as the value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Bulgaria during the year 2024 reached 777 million dirhams with an annual growth rate of 5%, which reflects the strength of bilateral trade relations, and with 54 new Bulgarian companies joining the membership of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the first nine months of this year, the total number of active Bulgarian companies registered in the chamber’s membership at the end of last September reached 243. Company.

Maha Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Business Community Interest Support Sector at Dubai Chambers, said that the establishment of the Bulgarian Business Council opens a new stage in the path of economic relations between Dubai and Bulgaria, as it contributes to building effective partnerships between business communities, developing broad opportunities for joint investment cooperation, and stimulating sustainable growth of bilateral trade relations.

The business councils, which operate under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, represent the nationalities of investors who practice their activities in the Emirate of Dubai.

These councils facilitate cooperation and coordination with the Chamber, which supports the promotion of bilateral trade and investments between Dubai companies and companies of the countries and markets that the councils represent, with the aim of developing economic partnerships.
