Manchester City releases its annual report for the 2024-2025 season, with the club recording the highest revenues for the third time

Today, Manchester City issued its annual report for the 2024-2025 season, confirming that it has achieved the third highest revenue in the club’s history, despite its absence from the podium for the first time in eight years.
The club’s approach to long-term revenue diversification is reflected in its key revenue streams with the club reporting revenues of £694.1 million, and reporting a marginal loss of £9.9 million.
In the context of the standards adopted by the club in previous seasons, the club’s participation in the Champions League for the fifteenth consecutive season and its occupying third place in the English Premier League was considered a disappointing result. The strategic investment in the squad has seen players such as Tijani Reynders, Ryan Cherke and Nico Gonzalez join the club, with Erling Haaland, the world’s most prolific striker, pledging to continue his career with the club for the next decade.
The most notable changes the club witnessed off the field were Txiki Begiristain concluding his career as sporting director of Manchester City after 13 years of amazing success with the club, and Hugo Viana joined to occupy the same position, accompanying Txiki during the transitional phase to ensure a smooth transition of duties. The end of the 2024-2025 season also witnessed the conclusion of a tender contract presented by Kevin De Bruyne, one of the most prominent Manchester City players of all time, after 10 years full of achievements.
Speaking about the club’s season, Khaldoun Al-Mubarak, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, said: “If we reflect on what was achieved during this year, we will see how important the achievements are in strengthening the club’s position and continuing its development in the long term. The truth is that our keenness and focus on continuing to develop the club has not weakened or diminished in any way. The season has witnessed the commitment of all employees and stakeholders to continue developing Manchester City FC on and off the field.”
He added: “It is a testament to the progress we have made since 2008 that finishing third in the Premier League and qualifying for the Champions League for the 15th consecutive season is a disappointing result. However, no one holds Manchester City to higher standards than we hold ourselves to, so we are proud of the high standards we have reached thanks to our continued success. We have committed significant investment in revamping our men’s first team squad, and we look forward to seeing this new group develop further under Pep’s leadership.” Guardiola.
He continued: “It is also worth noting our success in facing the challenges witnessed in the past twelve months with calm, determination and a clear vision. In all fields, the ability to face adversity and emerge from them with greater strength is an indication of the organization’s stability and strength. This is what we succeeded in achieving in the 2024/2025 season at all levels, whether in Manchester City or in the City Football Group, which gives us all a feeling of optimism and the ability to continue progress.”
For his part, the club’s CEO, Ferran Soriano, said: “The club is still based on important and well-established principles, and we remain strongly committed to our strategy, which is based on the aesthetics of football, operational excellence, societal impact, and continued innovation in the long term.”
He added: “As an embodiment of this commitment, we witnessed the signing of player Erling Haaland and Puma company long-term contracts with the club.”
He continued: “We witnessed a difficult season and learned a lot from it, and any success we achieve in the future will be attributed – even in part – to the lessons that were learned and the character that was honed under difficult circumstances. As we always told ourselves, ‘Win or learn.’ As we look to the future with ambition and consistency, we are confident that we have the ingredients, audience and culture necessary to continue our journey full of ambition and achievements.”
The annual report highlights a number of important achievements that embody the club’s commitment to achieving sustainable growth, continuous development and impact on society.

Significant progress has been made on the development of the club’s £300m North Stand and entertainment facility, which will open in phases starting with the opening of the expanded North Stand before the end of the 2025-26 season. The bulk of the major structural and external works have been completed and construction work reached its highest point and was completed in the spring. In the context of this development, the club announced that it has entered into a partnership with the international Radisson Hotel Group, which will manage the club hotel, which consists of 401 rooms.
The club’s expanded North Stand and world-class facilities will also join the 23,500-capacity Co-op Live Arena, which is the result of a joint collaboration between City Football Group and Oak View Group.
Work has also progressed on the £10m City Football Academy Women’s Sports Center which will become home to the women’s first team.
In addition to the above, Rodri’s efforts culminated in him becoming the first Manchester City player to win the Ballon d’Or, the highest individual award in football.
The transfer of talent from the academy to the first team continued at a rapid pace, with Nico O’Reilly becoming the latest graduate to cement his place in Pep Guardiola’s squad.
The club’s official charity, City in the Community, also continued its mission of empowering young people to live healthy lives through football, engaging more than 16,900 people in 19 programs in the 2024-2025 season.
