A dialogue session in Ras Al Khaimah will showcase the UAE’s efforts in cybersecurity

Ras Al Khaimah, December 17 / WAM / The Emirates Society for Social Development organized at its headquarters in Ras Al Khaimah a dialogue session entitled “Cybersecurity”, in which it hosted His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Cybersecurity Council of the UAE Government.

The session was witnessed by Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Saud bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Private Secretary of His Highness the Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, in addition to the presence of a group of interested people, youth cadres, and students of technical specializations.

Dr. Al-Kuwaiti discussed the UAE’s efforts in building an advanced cybersecurity system, through which it was able to consolidate its position among the countries most prepared and capable of confronting cyberattacks, stressing that protecting the digital space has become an essential component for protecting national achievements and the continuity of vital services.

The session also touched on the National Cybersecurity Strategy, and the axes it includes that aim to enhance the protection of digital infrastructure, and enable the government and private sectors to adopt the highest standards of cybersecurity, in addition to enhancing innovation, empowering capabilities, and developing national cadres specialized in this vital sector.

Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Society for Social Development, confirmed that the UAE is moving firmly towards building a secure digital society, thanks to the directives of the wise leadership, which has placed cybersecurity at the forefront of its strategic priorities.

He added, in light of the accelerating digital transformation, the importance of raising public awareness of cyber challenges and enhancing the digital security culture among all segments of society, especially the youth, is highlighted, as they are the cornerstone of the security and stability of the future.
