The negotiation ceiling decides Meloni’s fate with Sharjah

Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club, Obaid Al Shamsi, confirmed that the club’s football company is striving to retain the team’s player, Marcus Meloni, by renewing his contract, describing the player as one of the main pillars of the team, and indicating that the matter will be resolved soon.

Al Shamsi explained that there is a specific ceiling for the process of negotiating with the player regarding renewing his contract, which cannot be exceeded, stressing at the same time that the club management is keen not to neglect it.

Al Shamsi told Emirates Today, in response to a question about the fate of renewing Meloni’s contract in light of the circulating news about his approaching move to a club: “The Sharjah Club Football Company is very keen for Meloni to stay, but there is a certain ceiling for negotiation that cannot be exceeded.”

Marcus Meloni is considered one of the most prominent players in the UAE League during the recent period, as he presented distinguished levels with Sharjah, as well as with the national team, and became one of the influential elements whether in the national or team squad.

It is noteworthy that Sharjah Club had renewed Marcos Meloni’s contract in November 2023 until 2026, noting that the club had signed the player in August 2019, coming from the Brazilian club Palmeiras.

Emirates Al-Youm had learned that Marcos Meloni was close to moving to the ranks of Al-Jazira Club. The sources stated that negotiations between the player and the club have witnessed remarkable progress over the past few days, awaiting the completion of official procedures during the coming period.
