Shabab Al-Ahly pays the price for “small details” and loses two titles in 30 days

The Shabab Al-Ahly team received a new blow in its current season, after losing the Super Cup title, losing two titles in just 30 days, in a scene that reflects the magnitude of the challenges that the team faces despite remaining a constant party in the competition equation, and between great ambitions imposed by a previous exceptional season, and the pressure of results that did not live up to expectations, Shabab Al-Ahly found itself required to deal with a difficult reality imposed by influential mistakes, offensive absences, and a decline in effectiveness in front of goal, so that short tournaments turn from an opportunity. Consolidating the titles to painful stations in the course of the season.
Shabab Al-Ahly bid farewell to the Professional League Cup tournament early, after losing to Al-Nasr in the quarter-finals, before losing the Super Cup title after falling to Al-Sharjah with a score of 3-2 in the final match that was held at Al Maktoum Stadium, the day before yesterday, causing the team to lose a title that it had won last season.
During the current season, Al-Ahly youth suffered clear technical crises, most notably offensive problems and committing influential mistakes, whether in the back line or at the goalkeeping level, which was directly reflected in the results in the decisive matches. The absence of Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun due to injury also constituted a strong blow to the team, given his major role last season and his clear influence in winning the championships.
In addition, the performance of the front line witnessed a noticeable decline in the level of some offensive elements, which caused the team to lose the ability to capitalize on the opportunities it creates, despite its frequent access to dangerous areas.
For his part, the former national team captain, Abdul Rahman Muhammad, assured Emirates Al-Youm that Shabab Al-Ahly will remain a competitive team for all titles, noting that the team was built from the beginning to be present in all tournaments.
Abdul Rahman Muhammad explained that losing the Super Cup and the League Cup does not represent the end of ambitions, stressing that the team only needs some tactical solutions, especially on the offensive side. He said: “If the team had taken advantage of a quarter of the opportunities it created, its situation would have been completely different in all tournaments.”
