Jardim attends the Al-Wasl and Al-Wahda match from the stands… and is close to coaching “Al-Annabi”

The stands of the match between Al-Wasl and Al-Wahda, within the ADNOC Professional League, witnessed the presence of Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim, in a move that reinforced the news that he is close to assuming the technical leadership of Al-Wahda club during the coming period, succeeding former Portuguese coach Jose Moraes.

An informed source confirmed to Emirates Al-Youm that the negotiations between Al-Wahda and the Portuguese coach witnessed remarkable progress, in light of the desire of the “Al-Annabi” management to contract with a coach who has great experience in the UAE League and is capable of leading the team in the next stage.

Jardim’s name had previously been linked, at the beginning of the current season, to the possibility of coaching Al-Wasl, before technical matters stabilized at that time, without this connection developing into an official agreement, so the name of the Portuguese coach once again returned to the forefront through the Al-Wahda portal.

Jardim’s presence in the match between Al-Wasl and Al-Wahda increased speculation about his imminent return to work in the ADNOC Professional League, especially after his recent departure from coaching the Brazilian club Cruzeiro, ten months after assuming the job, as he attributed the decision to personal reasons related to preserving his physical and psychological health.

Jardim has a long coaching record, as he previously led Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia to win the AFC Champions League title, in addition to his experiences in the UAE League with Shabab Al-Ahly and Al-Ain, in addition to his most prominent stop with Monaco in France.
