Crowning the winners of the broadcast rounds in the camel auction at Al Dhafra Festival
Al Dhafra, January 10, 2017 (WAM) – Today, the final Al Dhafra Festival crowned the winners of the camel auction, which was competed in 8 rounds within the broadcasting age of local and Majahim camels, and 80 prizes were allocated to them, at the auction platform in Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra region.
His Excellency Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Festivals and Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, crowned the winners of the competitions, amid a large presence of camel owners from the Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the audience of camel auctions, and visitors to the festival.
The results in the main half, Talad Radio for the Tribesmen 1 Ramz – Local, resulted in “Aryam” for its owner Abdulaziz Muhammad Ayed Ali Al-Qahtani winning first place, and “Al-Fare’” for its owner Zayed Mohammed Qaran Rashid Al Mansouri Namos in the main half Talad Radio for the Tribesmen 1 Ramz – Majahim, and won first place in the Talad Radio for the Tribesmen 2 half – Local. “Amazing” by its owner, Muhammad Ali Balkhaswani, by Palmer Al-Mansouri, and in the Talad Radio for Tribesmen 2 – Majahim round, “Ramha” by its owner, Saleh Bakhit Muhammad Al-Awairi Al-Marri, came in first place.
“Al-Qahira”, owned by Ali Rashid Ali Sayyah Al-Mansouri, won the Talad Radio Round 3 – Local, and first place in the Talad Radio Round 3 – Majahim went to “Shumukh”, owned by Rashid Jaber Rashid Al-Qashouti. As for the Partners Radio Round – Local, “Hamloula” won for its owner, Hilal Hamad Khalfan Al-Maawali, and in the Round Partners Radio – Majahim won first place with “Al-Nayfa” for its owner, Saeed Muhammad Awad Al-Menhali.
This morning, the camels entered the rounds designated for the age of broadcasting, within the Sharaya rounds for the tribesmen and the open Baynouna (symbol) for the local and Al-Majahim categories, the round for the purebreds, the round for Their Highnesses the Sheikhs and those who wish from the tribesmen “General – Al-Wadh”, and the results will be announced tomorrow “Sunday” at exactly four o’clock in the afternoon at the camel mazayna platform in Madinat Zayed and through the “Our Heritage” platforms of the Abu Dhabi Authority. For heritage and via Baynounah Channel and Al Dhafra Festival Radio 90.1 FM in the vicinity of the Al-Mazayna site.
Today, a number of students and members of the academic and administrative staff at New York University Abu Dhabi visited the camel auction at Al Dhafra Festival. The students toured the auction platform and the nets of the camels participating in today’s rounds. They got to know closely the breeds of camels, and listened to an explanation from the jury about the most prominent aesthetic criteria for determining the winning camels in the auction rounds. They attended part of the announcement of the results and the crowning of the first-place winners.
