Failure is part of the path to success

Alvaro Arbeloa, the new coach of Real Madrid, took full responsibility for the sudden defeat and exclusion from the King’s Cup through a three-to-two defeat at the hands of Albacete in the quarter-finals, in his first match as the team’s coach, stressing that “failure is part of the path to success.”
Arbeloa did not hesitate to protect his players, and said: “If there is someone who bears responsibility for this defeat, then I am responsible, because I am the one who made the decisions related to the lineup, method of playing, and substitutions.”
Real Madrid’s official website quoted Arbeloa as saying, “I have no regrets. If I went back in time, I would have done the same thing. I would repeat the same decision a thousand times.”
Arbeloa described the defeat against a lower-level team as “painful and a disaster,” adding: “We all feel pain, but tomorrow we have to get up and go back to work… We owe the fans a lot.”
Arbeloa praised the team spirit, saying: “I cannot blame the players. They did their best and tried to do what I asked of them in just one day.”
Arbeloa stressed that the focus will now be on the league and Champions League titles, explaining, “This defeat will make me better, and it will make us all better.”
The new coach of the Royal Club explained, “We have to be faster and force our competitors to run… We need more exchange of positions and clearer ideas.”
Arbeloa praised his Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, noting, “This is the Vinny Junior that I want to see, a bold person, who takes responsibility, and is capable of changing the course of the match.”
