Secret moves to appoint Zidane as coach of the “Roosters”

The French newspaper L’Equipe confirmed that the French Football Federation has already begun work on the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as technical director of the first team.
Despite the desire of the Federation President, Philippe Diallo, to wait until the end of the 2026 World Cup to announce Didier Deschamps’ successor, the movements have already begun behind the scenes.
L’Equipe newspaper explained that the current work is not only limited to negotiating with Zidane, but also extends to discussing and forming the technical staff that will accompany him in his next mission.
The federation is seeking to arrange all the details to ensure that Zizou is ready to take over the leadership immediately after the end of the World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
L’Equipe quoted Philippe Diallo as saying that he had great admiration for Zidane and what he gave to French football as a player and coach, but he stressed the need to “do everything in its time,” stressing that the current focus is on preparing the team for the next world championship.
