المملكة: “Kalghaith”… an initiative to distribute 900 iftar meals to needy families in Mecca


Organized Umm Al-Qura University “Kalghaith” volunteer initiative to distribute 900 breakfast meals to Destitute families in Mecca during the month of Ramadan, with the participation of the “Where is Humanity” group, in order to enhance social responsibility and consolidate the values ​​of human solidarity.

The University Vice President for Business Development and Community Partnership, Professor Dr. Warda Al-Asmari, launched the initiative, which is supervised by the Volunteer work, emphasizing the university’s keenness to provide quality services that meet the needs of the Meccan community.

Highest standards of quality

The initiative witnessed a remarkable solidarity between the male and female volunteers who took on the tasks of preparing and processing the meals according to the highest quality standards, before transporting them via designated buses to the targeted distribution sites in the neighborhoods of the Holy Capital.

The participation of 900 volunteers in this humanitarian demonstration embodied the spirit of giving that characterizes them. University employees, where the team succeeded in delivering meals to those entitled to them in a scene that reflects the highest values of Ramadan compassion.

A proactive step

This proactive step comes as part of Umm Al-Qura University’s strategy to enable volunteer work and increase the number of volunteer hours for its students, in direct line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in societal transformation.
