Khorfakkan wins the Paralympic Cup for powerlifting

Sharjah, April 26 / WAM / Yesterday evening, the Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled was crowned champion of the National Paralympic Committee Cup for the 2025-2026 sports season in the powerlifting competitions, after topping the overall standings of the tournament that was held on its home soil, amid a strong competitive atmosphere among clubs for people of determination at the state level.

Khorfakkan’s coronation came after its players scored the highest number of points across the different weights. They presented outstanding technical levels since the start of the competitions, confirming their readiness and ability to win the title well deservedly.

The closing ceremony was attended by Thiban Salem Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee, Juma Al Nuaimi, Member of the Committee’s Board of Directors, Abdulaziz Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Club’s Sports and Competitions Committee, and Abdullah Saeed Al Harithi, Chairman of the Corporate Communications Committee.

Al Muhairi stressed that the tournament reflects the great development of sports for people of determination in the country, praising the technical levels of the players, stressing that the clubs are making great efforts in preparing them, which contributes to creating champions capable of representing the country in international forums, expressing his aspiration for this momentum to continue in the upcoming tournaments.

He pointed out that these tournaments are an important station for discovering talents and refining players’ abilities, stressing the continuation of work to consolidate gains and achieve new achievements.
